This autumn, Toquicimes dons its gourmet mantle in Megève. From October 20 to 23, 2022, this gourmet event will feature local producers’ markets, a culinary photography exhibition, masterclasses and competitions.
World-renowned pastry chef and chocolatier Pierre Hermé will be the patron of this 5th edition, which will be prepared with gourmet flair and a number of new features. The 4-day festival once again offers a tasty program, with a farandole of events and demonstrations focusing on encounters, sharing, locavorism and transmission.
An emblematic event for mountain cuisine, Toquicimes brings together the elite of French gastronomy. It’s a chance for Michelin-starred chefs, farmers, local producers and artisans to get together and put the spotlight on gastronomy and their know-how. New this year: a sweet competition with Chartreuse® Chocolate Tart
This year’s festival, punctuated by numerous competitions, has added a sweet newcomer to its list of winners. Initiated by the Relais Desserts association, this competition allows all pastry chefs in France to propose a tart made with dark chocolate and Chartreuse. A gourmet challenge to be met on Friday, October 21. The 3 best tarts in which the two flavors are subtly combined will be rewarded.
Family contest: bugnes
At every Toquicimes, the family competition is a much-anticipated feature of the gastronomic weekend. Under the aegis of the Conservatoire des Recettes de Montagne, this competition allows the public to present their best local recipes, original or revisited, from a traditional family history. On Saturday October 22, in the village square, bugnes will be in the spotlight. Come and discover the recipes used by local families to make these traditional sweets.
