RALLYE MONTE CARLO 2022

16 May 2021

The legendary Monte Carlo Rally took place from 20 to 23 January. Blue Estate was delighted to accompany the Rallye Goudj Team, which wanted to promote blood donation during this emblematic event in the WRC world championship.

It was a fast-paced week! Here’s a summary of this fabulous 20 ❤ project.

Preparing for the race

Driver Lionel Goujon and co-driver Christophe Laperière set off for Monaco on Sunday morning to check the car and all the equipment (helmet, overalls, etc.).

Monday sees the start of the ‘Recos’, which continue until Wednesday evening. It’s an intensive 3 days, with events spread out between Monaco and Sisteron. These first moments are important for taking notes (bends, speed, trajectory, etc.), so that you can drive safely during the special stages.

The Rally

Thursday evening sees the start of the most eagerly awaited of the stages: the Col du Turini. Hundreds of spectators lining the roads, campfires to warm up, fireworks… In short, a unique atmosphere! And above all, great media coverage, as the Rally was broadcast live on TV from the start in Monaco, during the 4 days of racing, right up to the final podium. This was followed by 2 intensive days with the ‘Cadors’ of the sport.

On Saturday, a ‘discovery’ day was organised for all the Rallye Goudj Team’s partners to discover the world of the WRC. The Blue Estate team and the other partners were able to see and ‘rub shoulders’ with some of the big names in the world of WRC, including Sébastien Loeb (who is no longer a world champion), Sébastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville!
