Whether you’re a mountain sports, mountaineering or adventure enthusiast, the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley and its peaks offer you unparalleled experiences all year round.
Mythical sites to visit from early May to early November, depending on the weather, you can visit these legendary places: the Montenvers Train and the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Midi, the Lac Blanc hike and the Mont Blanc, will allow you to admire the highest peak in the Alps at 4,810 metres from every angle, Mont Blanc.
Enjoy the mountain in winter
At 30 km from Megève, come and discover the exceptional ski resorts of Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine, visited by great champions and renowned by international skiers. You’ll find a wide range of pistes, at altitudes of between 1030m and 3300m, for all levels of ability, in a variety of locations: big pistes, tree skiing and off-piste skiing.
Go high up on the south-facing slopes of the Brévent and Flégère, overlooking the Mont-Blanc range; on the Grands-Montets, overlooking the village of Argentière; or in the Balme-Vallorcine area, at the top of the valley, on the edge of the Swiss border. Chamonix also has 3 ski areas at the bottom of the valley, ideal for children and beginners.
Not far from Chamonix, on the other side of the valley, is the resort of Les Houches (between 950 m and 1900 m), easily accessible by the Bellevue or Prarion cable cars from the village, or by the legendary Tramway du Mont-Blanc from Le Fayet (580 m) or Saint-Gervais (820 m).

If you’re visiting the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley in summer, why not try your hand at some sporting or cultural activities?
Set in a picture-postcard landscape, you can spend a day or half-day exploring the many hiking trails, on foot or by mountain bike. For the more adventurous, try trail running, paragliding, climbing or mountaineering. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, enjoy a game of golf or tennis with family and friends.
Every summer, the villages of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley host a wide range of sporting and cultural events, with concerts and exhibitions, so don’t hesitate to consult the programme online or in person at the tourist office.
