Every year, for the Fête du Lac, the city of Annecy offers an unforgettable night-time spectacle combining fireworks, light shows and music on the shores of the lake. Join us on August 5 for this year’s 2023 edition, based on the theme of musicals.
La Fête du Lac, an emblematic event
Derived from the Venetian festival held in honor of Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie to celebrate the attachment of Savoy to France (August 1860), this event has evolved with new techniques, calling on renowned creators of emotions. Over the years, the Fête du Lac, at the foot of the French Alps in Annecy, has become an event recognized throughout Europe. In 2022, over 200,000 people came from all over the world to admire this colorful spectacle. It should be noted that the Mayor of Annecy has announced, that the Fête du Lac will not take place in 2024 due to the Paris Olympics, all the more reason to come and enjoy this beautiful event this year.
A poetic line-up
Musicals will be the theme of this year’s event. The poster was designed by illustrator Victoria Roussel. Fascinated by the exploration of nature, Victoria poetically transcribes dreamlike universes inviting contemplation. She wanted to highlight the grace of movements, gestures and bodies that brush against each other in a unique ballet facing the lake. Let yourself be transported into an imaginary world where fireworks light up the lake waters with their brilliant colors. To the rhythm of music specially composed for the occasion, lights and drones play with the lake’s reflections.

In the afternoon, take a dip in the lake and then enjoy a picnic on the banks of the lake to make the most of this magical evening under the stars. Young and old alike will marvel at this fabulous night-time spectacle. Escape into a 70-minute musical whirlwind of fireworks and special effects. The shores will be transformed into a magical stage, where nature, art and technology come together.
A more responsible Fête du Lac
Already in 2022, the pyrotechnic compositions proved to be less polluting, and the organizers had worked to reduce the event’s carbon footprint. The vast majority of suppliers are local, and the products used for the fireworks are mainly Italian.

Practical info
To attend the show, you can buy tickets online or at a sales outlet in Annecy.
Tickets are divided into 7 categories according to their location around the lake. Prices range from €6.50 to €50 for adults. The show is free for children under 5, and even 6 (lawns). Discounts are available on presentation of proof of entitlement. Persons with reduced mobility benefit from individualized access. The fee is €40, and access for the first companion is free.
